Hi everyone! Our team has been hard at work polishing and fixing bugs we come across. Thank you so much for your continued support in this adventure!

The following items have been addressed and updated:

Gameplay

  • Doubled Torch Fuel duration.
  • Made the following changes to movement speed:
    • Slightly slowed down player speed.
    • Adjusted rat movement speed to be slightly higher than the player.
    • Adjusted ghost movement speed to be slightly lower than the player.
  • Included a win state for the game.
  • If the player walks in the fog for the first time without the crystal activated, Aileen will warn the player of taking damage and move them back. (It won’t warn you past the first time, so be careful!)

Combat

  • Fixed issue where the final boss wouldn’t die.
  • Updated Aileen’s sword swing animations.
  • Enemy attacks now deal damage at appropriate times instead of on proximity.
  • Player attack range modified for better ability to hit all enemy types.

UI

  • Implemented the following changes to the Notebook for better readability:
    • Lowered blood splatter intensity.
    • General art improvements.
    • Moved and added text to the page click buttons.
    • Adjusted layout of the Craftable Items pages.
    • Adjusted text font.
  • Game will now properly pause during dialogue encounters and while the Notebook is open.
  • Updated Crystal and Notebook icon.
  • Decreased dialogue box size.
  • Updated Control UI to make it more clear what buttons to push.
  • Pressing the Escape key while in the journal will now exit the journal.

Level Design

  • Added emissive textures to all interactables.
  • Added lighttable torches to towns.
  • Replaced wheat with… a better looking wheat.

Sound

  • Added death sound to final boss when player defeats him.
  • Added the following sound bites to Aileen:
    • Reacts with a grunt or groan sound when getting hit by an enemy.
    • Reacts to drinking a potion.
  • Added a new attack and react SFX for rat and ghost enemies.
  • Added gathering item sounds.
  • Added torch refill sound.
  • Fixed player audio so voice lines won’t play on top of each other.
  • Adjusted footstep sounds to better reflect what surface the player is walking on.
  • Balanced music volume.
  • Increased ghost attack volume.
  • Restored river and windmill attenuation to higher values.
  • Added sound to igniting fires.
  • Added sound to closing the Notebook.

Bugs, Crashes and Blockers

  • Fixed a bug where the ‘Press E’ indicator would get stuck on screen if you died while looking at an interactable or looking quickly between stick pickups.
  • Fixed final boss disappearing forever if the player died during the fight.
